Author's note
Cherubim Caps, credited to Paulo W and Intellecta Design, is a free Gothic initials font based on illustrated manuscript capitals. Each ornate letter encloses a cherub-like figure amid curling vines, leaves, and small flowers. Fine black outlines and uneven engraved textures recall an old printed ornament.
Historical book covers are its clearest setting, with the decorated capitals serving as miniature illustrations as well as lettering. It also suits fairy-tale publishing, theatrical posters, and invitations, but its strongest role is as a lavish opening initial.
