Author's note

Cheshire Initials font by House Of Lime is a free decorative gothic initials typeface. Each letter feels like a tiny woodcut illustration, packed with swirling curls, fan-like wedges, and inky black blocks that bite sharply into the white. The letters are dense and tactile, almost carved, so a single character instantly becomes a visual centerpiece rather than just another glyph.

Using Cheshire Initials as oversized drop caps or monograms brings a storybook mood to book covers, fantasy novels, invitations, certificates, menus, and wine or perfume labels. This free font works beautifully when you let it breathe-set one ornate initial large, then support it with a calm serif or sans in smaller sizes. That contrast keeps layouts readable while letting Cheshire Initials carry all the drama and ornament.
