Author's note

ChessType by Carl Krull is a free pixel display font built from evenly sized square tiles. Its blocky letters resemble patterns assembled on a chessboard, with rigid right angles, open gaps, and a distinctly digital silhouette.

Designers working on retro games and technology-themed events can use it for title screens, posters, and merchandise, where the tiled construction connects easily with grids, game boards, and low-resolution graphics. In publishing, it suits puzzle books or gaming magazines, turning cover lines into part of the board-like artwork rather than ordinary typography.
