Author's note

Chicago House by The Original 19 is a free eroded display font built from sturdy serifs and sweeping curls. Its chipped surfaces and uneven edges make the lettering look hand-printed, with ornament that feels theatrical rather than delicate.

As an illustrated emblem, the font can shape music posters, craft drink packaging, and event merchandise with the grit of an old tavern sign. The curling strokes also suit haunted attractions and burlesque signage. In editorial design, it can turn a magazine feature opener into part of the artwork, linking the title to distressed borders or ink textures.
