Chinese Ruler by Michael Tension is a free hand-drawn display font with uneven strokes and a blunt, inked finish. Its letters have loose curves, irregular joins, and small variations in width that make the writing feel made by hand. The forms are sturdy but never mechanical.
Packaging is a particularly good medium for this lettering, especially on tea labels, snack wrappers, and playful restaurant menus. The brushy edges can echo simple food illustrations or stamped motifs, turning the words into part of the package's artwork rather than neutral labeling alone.
