ChunkFive by FontLab Studio is a free heavy slab serif with the blunt impact of vintage poster type. Its broad letterforms are built from dense, nearly even strokes and substantial rectangular serifs. Rounded shapes keep the blocky construction from looking mechanical.
Its old-fashioned advertising style suits food packaging, event posters, and music merchandise, especially when a sturdy printed voice is wanted. In branding, the compact shapes can turn a brewery, diner, or workwear label into a convincing period emblem.
