Author's note

Claudius, a free blackletter font developed by Paul Koch from Rudolf Koch's written models, has the broad, commanding forms of medieval display lettering. Its dark strokes shift between rounded sweeps and abrupt, chisel-like angles. Tall verticals and compact interior spaces make the letters look dense and architectural.

Historical and ecclesiastical themes suit its solemn shapes, especially on museum posters, book covers, heritage event materials, and exhibition graphics. In publishing, it gives chapter openings a period-minded decorative focus.
