Author's note

Clown Charlie, a free Japanese display font, turns broad, heavy strokes into playful katakana-like forms with a soft bounce. The letters feel built from chunky bars and deep scooped curves, so the overall tone lands somewhere between retro sign lettering and cartoon title graphics.

It fits posters, food packaging, arcade-style branding, festival flyers, and title cards where a bold Japanese accent feels right without becoming fussy. As a free font, it also works well for short headlines and logo sketches, because those rounded, weighty shapes read more like graphic marks than plain lettering.
