CM Cold Request Extra Bold by Christopher Means is a free distressed sans serif with an oversized silhouette. Rounded forms give the lettering blunt poster force. Ragged diagonal scratches cut across the edges and add a dry, hand-scuffed texture.
It is strongest on music posters, where its dark mass can echo loud, rough-edged artwork. It also suits streetwear graphics and action-sports merchandise. In either setting, the scratched surface can become part of the brand's identity.
