Author's note

CM Old Firehouse Bold by Christopher Means is a free old-school eroded display font with broad slab serifs and the rugged build of frontier wood type. Its tall letters carry dense scratches, chipped edges, and pitted scars across nearly every stroke. The damage feels forceful and deliberate.

Western poster design is its clearest role, especially for rodeo events, vintage bar branding, and Americana music covers. The rough print texture can also become part of packaging artwork for barbecue sauces or craft beer, giving those products the look of a weathered sign and speaking directly to audiences drawn to frontier imagery.
