Author's note

CM Hot Nurse by Christopher Means is a free brush script with thin, wiry capitals, uneven heights, and a deliberately unruly edge. Overlapping dry-brush strokes leave doubled lines and ragged, restless outer edges.

A punk concert poster is its clearest setting, since the raw lettering can echo loud music, hand-painted venue signs, rough screen-printing, and the deliberately scuffed finish of DIY gig merchandise sold at small shows. Horror film title cards, album sleeves, and underground event flyers can extend the same distressed idea by threading the scratchy lines through torn-paper collage, grainy photocopied portraits, ink splatters, or rough black-ink illustration.
