Author's note

Coburn by Neale Davidson is a free military display font with extremely tall, compressed capitals and a hard-edged stencil construction. Broad vertical strokes are sliced by narrow gaps, sharp wedges, and abrupt geometric notches. The silhouette is severe and mechanical.

Signage gives these forceful forms an industrial setting, and the same cut-metal character fits action-game interfaces and military-themed merchandise. It is most convincing on posters, where its towering proportions can turn a few words into an imposing unit insignia.
