Author's note

Coda Heavy by Vernon Adams is a free heavy sans serif with an emphatic, tightly packed silhouette. Broad vertical strokes dominate the letters, and small openings, blunt joins, and slightly softened curves keep the dense forms from feeling purely geometric.

A sports poster can use its forceful weight to make team names and event billing feel immediate, with the compact shapes also suiting merchandise and arena signage. Food packaging and music graphics are equally convincing settings, especially when the lettering needs to function almost like a solid emblem.
