Author's note

Code S by José Rico of Code.es is a free abstract display font with oversized, near-circular letters cut by sharp notches and narrow internal splits. Its silhouettes look more like shifting discs than conventional type.

Circular illustrations and repeating geometric patterns can absorb these letterforms as part of the artwork, making the font useful for exhibition posters and experimental album packaging. The dense shapes also suit club event graphics and fashion merchandise, where their alternating cuts and bulges can echo masks, records, or folded paper forms. Poster lettering is its clearest role because the unusual silhouettes reward immediate visual recognition.
