Author's note

Confusion by Steve Cloutier of PYRS Fontlab is a free eroded display font with tall, forceful capitals. Its tightly packed shapes have blunt, industrial proportions and uneven damage that cuts deeply across the strokes. The wear is severe and unpredictable.

Its distressed concert-poster character suits punk and metal artwork, album covers, and club flyers. The dense silhouette also makes convincing merchandise graphics and rough-edged event branding. In those settings, the lettering can become part of the printed texture itself, much like torn ink or a battered screenprint.
