Constantin Italic by L. Jake Jacobson of the University of Pittsburgh is a free Russian-style display font with a pronounced rightward lean. Broad wedge-shaped serifs give the capitals a formal, carved look. The thinner lowercase forms are more fluid, with strong changes in stroke width.
Book covers and vodka packaging both benefit from its theatrical sweep and Russian reference. Posters and stage programs can use its stately capitals for historical drama or Slavic cultural events.
