Author's note

Cute Line font by Masato Shimojima is a free decorative display typeface that turns every word into a little illustration. Thick black strokes hug bright interior lines, creating a carved, almost woodcut feel that still stays light and playful. The swirling curves, pointed flicks, and ribbon-like shapes give the Cute family a hand-drawn, storybook energy that jumps off the page even at a glance.

Using Cute Line, headlines feel like logotypes-bold, quirky, and full of motion-so it shines on posters, candy or toy packaging, book covers, event flyers, children’s branding, and whimsical social graphics. This free font works best in short phrases set large, where its inner lines stay crisp; pair it with a simple geometric sans for body text to keep layouts readable while letting Cute Line steal the spotlight.
