Author's note

Daela Book by Martin Wenzel is a free angular display font with the severe, architectural look of simplified blackletter. Tall vertical strokes, sharp corners, and abrupt changes in width give the letters a cut-paper silhouette, with compact forms that feel both medieval and machine-made.

Poster design is its strongest setting, especially for music, theater, or fantasy events seeking lettering with a stark historical edge. The same pointed construction can shape album packaging and game graphics, where the alphabet becomes part of the imagined world rather than neutral text. Against heraldic symbols, castle imagery, or hard-edged geometric illustration, its notched shapes can echo the artwork itself.
