Author's note

Danger Diabolik by P. A. Vannucci of Alphabet & Type is a free cartoon display font with tall, uneven capitals and a rough, hand-cut silhouette. Its blunt points and sudden shifts in width keep the lettering restless.

Comic-book illustration is a natural companion, since the jagged shapes resemble inked sound effects and torn-paper graphics used in action scenes. That same unruly construction links pulp covers, music posters, game titles, and merchandise with campy villains and retro adventure.

The Danger Diabolik font is taken directly from the film Danger: Diabolik by Mario Bava, starring John Phillip Law.
