Death Font by Version 510 is a free eroded display font with rough, horror-styled lettering. Heavy serif forms are cut by scratches, chips, and ragged edges that resemble damaged print. Several letters also use sharp, wedge-shaped strokes, adding a crude weapon-like quality.
Poster design is its clearest medium. The distressed surface suits horror films, extreme music merchandise, and Halloween event graphics, especially when the lettering becomes part of a grimy or violent image. In publishing, it could give horror novel covers the look of a battered title stamped onto worn paper.
