Author's note

Dementia font by David F. Nalle of Scriptorium Fonts is a free scary display typeface that looks like it’s been scratched into existence with broken glass. The letters twist and splinter into jagged spikes, with inky black forms that feel unstable and feral, as if they’re still crawling across the page. There’s nothing clean or polite here-Dementia hits you with raw, chaotic energy that instantly sets a horror-soaked mood.

Using Dementia, your titles don’t just label a project, they become part of the scare: horror movie posters, metal or deathcore band logos, haunted house branding, Halloween flyers, creepy book covers, and game splash screens all benefit from its feral texture. This free font works best huge, where every thorny edge is visible; pair it with a calm, neutral sans serif for body text so the chaos stays where it counts.
