Author's note

DF-Stromboli by Ko Sliggers of Dutchfonts is a free distorted, eroded display font with broad, forceful forms and a heavily battered print texture. The damage varies from letter to letter, breaking edges, thinning strokes, and opening rough white scars through the dark shapes.

Its splattered ink and torn-paper quality can merge directly with collage, photocopied photography, and distressed illustration. That makes it well suited to punk music posters, album packaging, and underground magazine covers, where imperfect reproduction is part of the subject. In those settings, the lettering can function as a printed texture or ripped label rather than neutral type.

DF-Stromboli is a script typeface written with a coffee spoon acting as a broad pen in the ashes of the Stromboli volcano on top of a scanner.
