Author's note

Dirty Ames Dirty Ames font by Robert Fauver at Typeology is a free distorted display typeface that looks like a Victorian poster dragged through ink, smoke, and cobwebs. Each letter is packed with fraying ornament, scratchy textures, and crumbling flourishes, like an antique engraving left too long in a damp attic. The result is loud, chaotic, and irresistibly tactile-more like carved wood or etched metal than clean digital type.

Using Dirty Ames Dirty Ames, you can instantly push anything into haunted-carnival territory: horror film titles, Halloween party posters, occult zines, escape room branding, gig flyers, or moody book covers. This free font works best at large sizes where all the grime and detail can breathe. For supporting text, pair it with a plain, modern sans serif to keep things readable while Dirty Ames Dirty Ames does the theatrical heavy lifting.
