Author's note

Distressed Ransom Note by Phelan Riessen is a free eroded decorative font assembled from deliberately mismatched letter styles. Chunky slab forms, thin serifs, circled characters, and uneven wear recreate the rough, pasted-together look of clipped print without relying on a single repeated treatment.

Posters and album covers gain a convincing photocopied texture from its shifting proportions and damaged surfaces. It also suits protest graphics and crime-themed event flyers, where the mixed typography echoes anonymous notes, underground publishing, and pulp suspense.
