Author's note

DK Scurvy Dog by David Kerkhoff is a free trash-style hand-lettered font with tall, rough capitals and a frantic scratched finish. Each character is redrawn with dense overlapping lines that wobble at the edges and gather into dark patches across the main strokes, and the narrow uneven shapes give the alphabet the look of hurried marker lettering repeatedly scored over with a pen.

It suits punk gig posters and unruly skateboard merchandise. On horror packaging and pirate-game title cards, the overlapping marks can make each word read like a gouged sign or a piece of distressed illustration rather than neutral lettering.
