Author's note

Dotspot, designed by goni of FontShop International GmbH, is a free dot-matrix display font built from neat rows of circular marks. Each letter is reduced to a sparse framework, with open gaps and varied dot clusters giving the forms lively electronic texture. The rounded components soften the rigid grid behind the design.

Its dotted construction can echo halftone portraits, scoreboard graphics, and constellations in poster or editorial artwork. It suits music packaging and event graphics inspired by early digital displays, since the broken strokes feel technical yet handmade. The circles can become part of diagrams or star-field illustrations, making the lettering apt for science, technology, and electronic-music themes.
