Author's note

DS Mechanical Bold, designed by Dubina Nikolay of D-Studio in Moscow, is a free mechanical slab serif display font. Its massive vertical strokes, square slab serifs, and abrupt joins give the letters a hard, engineered silhouette, with compact spacing intensifying the dense forms.

Packaging is the most convincing medium for this face, especially on tools, hardware, or technical products, and the same blunt construction suits concert posters, album covers, and event graphics built around industrial or machine-age themes. On signage, it can become part of a sturdy industrial nameplate.
