Author's note

Duvall font by PJL is a free retro display typeface with the swagger of old sign-painted logos and book covers. Its chunky, inky curves and snug spacing give every word a rolling, theatrical rhythm, while the soft, rounded serifs keep it friendly rather than stiff. The letters feel almost hand-carved-bold, dark shapes with just enough quirks to catch the eye without turning gimmicky.

Using Duvall, headlines instantly gain that vintage, showcard presence that’s hard to fake with modern sans fonts. This free font works beautifully for posters, retro branding, packaging, book covers, event titles, and bold social graphics. Set it large to let those sweeping forms breathe, and pair it with a clean, neutral sans serif for body text to let Duvall handle all the character and charm.
