Ekushey Azad, a free old-style serif from the contributors of ekushey.org, has a bookish, calligraphic tone with tall contrast and sharp, tapering details. The letters feel formal without turning stiff, mixing broad, stately shapes with a few lively diagonals and compact joins that keep the rhythm active.
That makes it a natural fit for literary covers, cultural posters, editorial mastheads, invitation headings, and museum or heritage branding where a free font needs some gravity. It also suits short title cards and pull quotes well, because the serif structure feels classical while the slightly expressive curves stop it from reading like a neutral text font.
