Author's note

Engebrechtre Italic by Ray Larabie of Typodermic Fonts Inc. is a free condensed italic sans serif with exceptionally tall, narrow proportions. Sweeping curves, sharp joins, and pronounced changes in stroke width give the letters a sleek, fashion-conscious edge.

Fashion and nightlife themes suit its rapid forward slant, making it effective for magazine covers, event posters, and fragrance packaging. Its strongest audience is designers seeking dramatic lettering with the elegance of a fashion masthead and the punch of a club flyer.

Engebrechtre is an early 20th-century stressed sans-serif font created in 2000.

The revision was rebuilt from the regular weight; the previous bold and expanded styles were discarded. It includes new spacing, kerning, and web-oriented horizontal precision. The S was redrawn, accents were redesigned, and support for additional languages was added. The italics use round dots rather than slanted dots. Additional mathematical symbols, fractions, numeric ordinals, an at sign, and the Indian rupee symbol were added. Vertical metrics were optimized for web performance.
