Author's note

Englebert by Brian J. Bonislawsky of Astigmatic is a free retro comic display font with extremely tall, narrow letters, long straight runs, tightly drawn curves, uneven edges, and a hand-rendered look rooted in mid-century novelty lettering. Changing stroke widths keep the upright forms visibly lively.

Designers working for comedy, family entertainment, or quirky independent brands could use it on posters, packaging, and title cards, where the compressed silhouette gives each line a distinctly vertical profile. The wobbly contours and pinched proportions also suit vintage cartoon art, theatrical print promotions, and playful editorial features built around a strain of cheerful oddball humor.
