Author's note

Ernst Backg by Michael Schinköthe of Greatmade is a free distorted display font with rough, top-heavy letterforms. Deep notches and swollen curves make the letters look cut from uneven paper. Their broad silhouettes stay forceful despite the chipped edges and restless alignment.

It can turn a poster title into part lettering, part torn-paper graphic. That graphic role suits punk flyers, album covers, streetwear branding, and irreverent event graphics. The jagged cuts and lopsided forms connect these uses to underground music and photocopied protest art.
