Author's note

FHA Eccentric French by The Fontry and Frank Smith Signs is a free theatrical display font with broad, sharply cut capitals. Deep triangular notches break into the strokes, and flared serifs give the lettering the look of hand-carved show signage.

A cabaret, costume boutique, or specialty drinks brand could use its silhouette for logos, packaging, and signage. The pointed cutouts also suit posters for stage productions and vintage-inspired entertainment, where the letters can echo decorative borders and stage-set ornament.

This typeface was created by Frank H. Atkinson and appeared in his book Sign Painting, first published in 1908. It is more than 100 years old.

Signmaker Frank Smith laid the groundwork for its digital adaptation. The digital version is complete, including kerning.
