Author's note

Fieldwork Font, created by Alexander Sperl of FontStruct, is a free pixel display font built from stark rectangular modules, rigid stepped corners, and deep, abrupt gaps that bite into the strokes. Its tall, uneven letterforms have a blunt arcade-screen look.

Pixel-art characters, tiled maps, and blocky interface graphics share its square construction and coarse digital grid, so the lettering belongs naturally in indie game title cards, retro event posters, and electronic music artwork. Because the repeated notches resemble paths cut through a grid, the font can also turn a merchandise logo or technology brand mark into a compact maze-like emblem.
