Author's note

Folk Sketches by Marcelo Magalhaes is a free hand-drawn outline display font with the loose construction of quick marker lettering. Its tall, uneven capitals have wavering contours and shifting stroke widths, so every letter takes on a plainly homemade shape.

Folk crafts and simple drawn scenes are an obvious match for this rough outlined style. It can carry poster titles, children's activity sheets, and labels for handmade goods, especially when the surrounding artwork shares its simple lines. The font is most convincing in cheerful event graphics, where the irregular capitals can read like part of the illustration.
