Author's note

Fracta by Fabian Pfeifhofer is a free medieval blackletter font with tall, blade-like strokes and sharply cut curves. Strong thick-thin contrast, hooked endings, and irregular diamond-shaped turns give the lettering an austere Gothic silhouette with a distinctly hand-cut edge.

It is especially convincing for historical event posters, where its severe forms immediately establish a medieval setting. The same qualities suit fantasy game graphics and dark music packaging. In publishing, it can shape dramatic chapter openings and cover typography, particularly for stories rooted in castles, folklore, religious history, and monastic imagery.
