Author's note

Free Monospaced, from the Free Software Foundation, is a free monospaced serif font with a plain, typewriter-rooted feel. Drawn across releases from 2002 to 2010, the letters pair even fixed-width spacing with sturdy slab-like serifs and rounded curves, so the rhythm feels measured rather than mechanical.

It fits coding zines, terminal-themed posters, bookish title cards, packaging labels, and editorial pull quotes where that steady beat helps set the tone. As a free font, it also works well for interface mockups and short headings that want a literate, utilitarian voice without drifting into either cold tech or old-fashioned newsprint.
