Author's note

Futurex Dropshaft, designed by Graham Meade of Apostrophic Laboratories, is a free futuristic display font built from broad curved forms and narrow upright strokes that change sharply in width. Its deep rounded bowls and squared breaks create a mechanical silhouette.

The space-age styling suits science-fiction posters, game graphics, and electronic music artwork. Packaging for gadgets or novelty products can draw on the contrast between swollen curves and rigid verticals, giving product names the look of molded machine parts. In an illustrated interface or event emblem, the lettering can become part of a fictional control panel instead of serving as neutral text.
