Author's note

Galactica Bats font by Mark F. Heiman is a free sci‑fi dingbat typeface packed with bold, black‑and‑white symbols inspired by Battlestar Galactica. The icons feel like crisp vector patches: circles, arrows, lightning bolts, layered triangles and badges that look at home on starship hulls and flight suits. Each mark is clean yet dense with detail, so they read instantly even at smaller sizes while still feeling chunky and tactile up close.

Using Galactica Bats, you can drop ready‑made insignia into fan zines, cosplay props, tabletop games, event signage, stickers, or UI mockups for space‑themed apps. This free font shines when you treat each glyph as a logo, scaling it up and giving it room to breathe. For text around the symbols, pair it with a simple geometric sans serif to keep the emblems as the undisputed focus.
