Author's note

Gargoyles font by Neale Davidson is a free gothic display typeface that feels carved out of stone and lit from within. Blocky, tower-like letters, razor-edged angles, and bold inline strokes give it a jagged fortress vibe, somewhere between medieval sigil and 90s comic logo. It’s loud, chunky, and highly stylized, built to command attention rather than sit quietly in body text.

Using Gargoyles, you can push drama in metal band logos, horror posters, Halloween event graphics, fantasy game titles, comic covers, or streaming overlays. This free font thrives at large sizes where its thick outlines and sharp geometry can really bite into the page or screen. For balance, pair it with a clean, neutral sans serif for supporting text and let Gargoyles own the main headline.
