Author's note

Gas font is a free digital dot‑matrix display typeface. Each letter is built from tight, inky black circles that mimic old gas station price boards, LED signs, and stadium scoreboards, giving text a gritty, mechanical flicker. The spacing is compact and blocky, so words feel like they’ve been punched into a glowing panel rather than gently typeset on a page.

Using Gas, you can instantly signal “retro tech” on arcade posters, sci‑fi titles, sports graphics, EDM flyers, countdown timers, and user interfaces that echo hardware screens. This free font shines at large sizes where the dots stay crisp and graphic; pair it with a clean geometric sans for body copy so the matrix texture can stay in the spotlight.
