Author's note

GB Shinto from The Golden Black is a free Japanese-inspired display font with broad, sharply cut lettering. Its dense silhouettes mix sweeping curves with pointed notches and abrupt angled joins. Small angular openings break up the dark mass.

Japanese folklore, martial arts, and arcade imagery are natural subjects for its dramatic forms. It suits game title cards and event posters because the lettering reads almost like a row of carved emblems. The same angular pattern can give snack packaging and music merchandise a stylized Japanese theme.
