Author's note

Gentium Basic, designed by J. Victor Gaultney and Annie Olsen of SIL International, is a free humanist serif with a calm, bookish manner. Its changing stroke widths and softly bracketed serifs give the letters an even, calligraphic warmth. Broad curves and open interior spaces keep the forms visually light despite their classical structure.
