Author's note

Germanic Runes 1 by Daniel Steven Smith is a free runic dingbats font with a carved, early-medieval feel. The letters are built from heavy diagonal strokes and sharp wedge cuts, so the alphabet reads like stone or wood inscriptions rather than modern lettering.

That makes this free font a natural pick for fantasy book covers, game title cards, music packaging, pub branding, and poster headlines that need a Northern European or mythic mood. It also works well for short names, monograms, chapter openers, and logo marks, because the angular forms carry so much atmosphere in just a few characters.
