Author's note

Graecum et Romani by Paulo W of Intellecta Design is a free classical figure dingbat font whose imagery resembles an illustration from an antiquarian volume. Fine hatching gives the draped figure an engraved-book texture.

Publishing is a natural setting for these pictorial symbols, especially in classical studies, historical fiction, and essays that benefit from carefully judged period ornament. They can also furnish museum exhibition graphics, heritage event materials, and invitations with a convincing scholarly accent. Because each character behaves like a small illustration, it can echo carefully rendered line drawings of sculpture, costume, and archaeological objects throughout a design.
