Grammata by Juan-Jose Marcos is a free classical Greek inscriptional serif font, and the letters carry the gravity of carved capitals rather than modern display styling. Broad wedge-like strokes, sharp triangular joins, and flared serifs give it a stone-cut rhythm, with a stately pace that feels liturgical, academic, and old-world at once.
This free font makes sense for museum graphics, archaeology books, classical studies journals, book covers, and cultural posters where an antique voice is needed without turning ornate. It also suits short title cards, chapter openings, and monograms, because the letters have enough carved contrast and ceremonial weight to hold a page with very few characters.

GRAMMATA Greek font has the classical Greek encoding used in the WinGreek and in the Son of WinGreek packages. This Greek font has been designed by Juan José Marcos, born in Salamanca (Spain) in 1963, with a degree in Classical Philology, University of Salamanca (1986) and teacher of classical languages.
In spite of designing a font takes a lot of time, I don`t ask money for this font, all I am asking is that you give me your opinion about the font, and let me know if you like it and if you will use it, etc. Finally, if you have any comments or queries, or you find out any error in the font, please email me at
