Gramophone Shaded by Nick Curtis is a free retro display font with hefty slab-serif letters and offset shadowing. Its broad shapes have uneven curves and sharply cut interior details. The result recalls exuberant novelty lettering from old posters.
Subjects with a vaudeville, circus, or early entertainment theme suit its theatrical construction, especially on event posters and record packaging. It can also turn pub signage and music merchandise into part of a period showbill concept.
