GrandNover2 by Frolov Alexey of MR.frukta is a free striped display font built from tightly stacked horizontal rules. Its broad capital forms read as solid silhouettes at a glance, with rounded shoulders and sharp interior cuts breaking through the bands.
The scan-line treatment recalls retro electronic displays and suits music posters or arcade graphics. It can also turn album packaging and event merchandise into part of the same patterned image. Oversized music posters are its clearest and most convincing application.
