Author's note

HamletOrNot by Manfred Klein and Petra Heidorn of Cranach Presse is a free medieval display font with the uneven bite of hand-cut lettering. Tall, blunt serifs and shifting stroke widths give the letters a rugged silhouette, with softened curves keeping the forms lively rather than formal.

Its medieval character makes it especially apt for historical publishing and theatrical posters. The irregular forms can also lend book covers and event graphics the texture of an old printed page. It is best matched to stories of courts, folklore, and dark stage drama.
