Author's note

Hemawathy, designed by Ranjan Shivakumar of Ethno Multimedia, is a free South Asian script display font with an unusually exuberant silhouette. Broad, rounded forms sweep into tight curls, hooked endings, and teardrop accents, giving the lettering a lively alternation between dense black shapes and airy internal spaces.

Designers working on regional arts and cultural projects will find it well suited to festival posters, music packaging, and event graphics. Its decorative turns readily echo ornamental borders and folk-inspired illustration. For restaurants, craft labels, or local venues, the rolling contours can become a recognizable part of the brand identity rather than serving as neutral text.
